Foden returns to England squad
Phil Foden has been recalled to the England squad after being cut from the team in September for breaching coronavirus protocols.
Manchester City midfielder Foden and Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood were sent home following the Nations League clash with Iceland.
Manager Gareth Southgate left the duo out of his squad for international fixtures in October to “send a message” that stepping out of line with England will not be tolerated.
Foden has now been restored to the squad, though there was no space for Mason Greenwood despite Harvey Barnes being overlooked and Danny Ings missing out through injury.
Raheem Sterling is available again after missing the previous three matches due to injury, while Reece James retained his place despite being shown a red card at the end of the 1-0 loss to Denmark in October.
